Terms of Service
Using Vela means agreeing to these terms. Short version: use it responsibly, respect others, and we reserve the right to cut off anyone abusing the service.
Acceptance
By creating a Vela account or installing the open-source release, you agree to these Terms. If you're using Vela on behalf of a company, you confirm you're authorised to bind that company.
The software
Vela Core is MIT licensed. You can self-host, modify, redistribute, and build commercial products on top. "Vela Hosted" refers to our managed hosting service — separate terms apply to that service, below.
Your content
You keep all rights to content you put into Vela. We don't claim ownership. You grant us the minimum license needed to display and serve it on your behalf (e.g. edge caching, image processing).
Acceptable use
Don't use Vela to publish unlawful content, spam, malware, or content that abuses or endangers others. Don't attempt to compromise, disrupt, or overload our systems.
Hosted service
If you use Vela Hosted, we host your site on our infrastructure. We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee specific SLAs outside enterprise plans. We may suspend accounts that violate acceptable use.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes get notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance.
Termination
You can export your data and close your account at any time. We may terminate accounts for repeated or material breach of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction where Vela Build is incorporated. Disputes go to the courts of that jurisdiction first.
